Dr. Kevin Hall at Tecumseh’s First Baptist Church

Dr. Kevin Hall
Speaking at Tecumseh’s First Baptist Church

Dr. Kevin Hall, Hollums Chair of Bible, Professor of Religion at Oklahoma Baptist University will be the special guest speaker Sunday, February 1st in both services at 8:30 am and 10:45 am at Tecumseh’s First Baptist Church, 301 S. Broadway.

Beginning in February, Tecumseh’s First Baptist Church will walk through the letter to the Hebrews for eight weeks. The message series will aim to show the superiority of Christ in comparison to prior Old Testament methods. Application lessons each week will help families and individuals put the Bible to work in their daily lives as they determine not to settle for less than God’s best.

Dr. Kevin Hall, along with teaching all levels of religion courses, is a contributing writer to the Biblical Illustrator. He has written for the Southwestern Journal of Theology and is a contributor to the Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible. In 1999, he received OBU’s Promising Teacher Award.

He is a member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Shawnee and serves as supply preacher for churches around the state. He and his wife, Dee Dee, have three children, Brian, Bonnie, and Bethany. Dr. Hall has degrees from Baylor and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pastor Clark Frailey invites you to join Dr. Hall’s introduction to the Hebrews emphasis at 8:30 am and 10:45 am this Sunday at Tecumseh’s First Baptist Church, 301 S. Broadway.

Pagan Christianity

I highly suggest you read this book if you’d like to know more about where our practices come from in today’s church and about a return to God’s basics.

This is the book you’ll hear me mention Sunday, January 25th during both AM services.

Living Life Intentionally: Don’t Throw away Life

Sunday, I’m speaking on not wasting your life or others. There are several thoughts on this I’m sharing but most importantly is my commitment to life in three vital areas: Suicide, euthanasia, and abortion.

Specifically abortion is one of the hot topics on my mind as we again approach another Rose Day and still no major action taken to reverse the sham 1973 Roe v. Wade decision whereby more American children have been systematically executed than in any world war – even far surpassing the Holocaust.

If you’d like to know more I suggest reading the following:

Why I locked my life down.

A few years ago someone stole a credit card number of mine along with many other customers from a website we’d ordered products from.

The hackers had easily scored lots of personal information. This was in the early days of internet shopping and I believe the merchant had taken all the necessary precautions available to them at that time.

The card was canceled quickly – in fact my bank called me about it to tell me! However it made me ever vigilant after that event about watching how my personal data was secured.

About a year ago I became really interested in a new company called LifeLock. The president even posts his personal Social Security Number all around to show how valuable their service is to the average American.

LifeLock works by locking down your credit and information in a way that makes it hard for your credit record to be broken into or affected by a hacker should they come across even the most vital of information.

I wasn’t terribly happy a few months ago to hear that my county assessor puts all my personal data, including Social Security numbers up on the public website for anyone to see and steal. I feel comfortable at night knowing that even if they take my SSN – there’s really nowhere to go.

And should LifeLock fail? I’ve got a $1 million dollar guarantee that they’lll make it right. I don’t even have $1 million right now! So I’m all set for $10/month.

Check out LifeLock below, I’m a proud member!
